Your wedding day just might be the happiest, most meaningful day of your life. You’ve found your soulmate. You’ve researched, planned, and saved for months. You’ve listened to advice and weighed opinions, you’ve accommodated personalities and exhausted yourself to create a day that will be the best it can possibly be for you and everyone you care about.
The wedding ceremony, wedding reception, bridal party, food, flowers, photos, music and more – all carefully considered, and decisions made. You’ve thought of everything and everyone else. And when your big day arrives, it’s time to think about you.
Here, our event manager, Jana, offers her expert advice on some simple steps you can take, and some reminders you can share that will help make your wedding day everything you imagined it could be.
Remind your bridal party and family to remember their flowers and boutonnieres as they head out for photos. You’d be surprised how often people forget these beauties and have to make a U-turn.
Remember your Chapstick or lipstick and take it with you for portraits. Lipstick can rub off with all that smooching😘, and you’ll need to apply more for the best portraits and personal experience.
Don’t forget water bottles to bring with you all day. After lots of activities and walking as well as loads of laughs with your loved ones, you’re bound to get thirsty. Of course, consider reusable water bottles for everyone and not single use plastic bottles.
One of our favorite tips is to bring Tupperware for your event. It’s so easy to get caught up in all the fun, friends and loved ones surrounding you that you end up mingling all evening long and forget to sit and eat. And let’s be honest, even IF you sit and eat, you’re most likely rushing to get back to the fun and you’re not getting to fully experience that amazing caterer you hired. So, load up your dinner and dessert to take with you as you leave for the evening to enjoy back in your room. You’ll thank us later. 😊
I’m sure you’ve heard about wedding coordinators now bringing emergency packs for the day. There’s a big reason for that. Think about putting in an e-kit: band aids and cleaning wipes, sewing kit, bleach pens or Shout stain remover wipes, Chapstick, tampons or pads, tweezers, scissors, safety pins, tape, super glue, Q-tips, dental floss, tissue, Tylenol or Ibuprofen, granola bars, perfume, mints or gum, fashion tape, phone chargers and anything else you can think of.
Stop at least once an hour or so and look around. Truly soak up the day by not letting it fly by. Live in the moment, experience it, feel it, be present on your wedding day. It’ll be over before you know it, so make sure to find moments to pause and take it all in😍.
From us to you, we hope you have a smooth and seamless wedding day experience. Just remember to enjoy it. You should feel like a guest at your own wedding come wedding day!
